Ivette Dumeng was born in Brooklyn, New York, a middle child of Puerto Rican and French roots, raised by a single mother and two brothers on a little island we call Manhattan. She began singing in a choir at the young age of 8 years old and didn't stop there.

After working as a manager at a small business for a few years, Ivette is now actively pursuing her artistic career in a full time capacity. Ivette is an actor and is currently training with Terry Schreiber at T. Schreiber Studio. She formerly attended the Actor's Theatre Workshop, Master Class Conservatory taught by Thurman E. Scott. She has also studied with Sandra Lee, Sandy Shurin, Robert McCaskill, and Greta Seacat. She has worked with such prominent music teachers as Deb Silver, Marni Nixon and Linda Beasley, a.k.a. Jnani and Mary Rodgers. Ivette is currently working with Amy London

She has appeared in several films, "Strangers with Candy," playing a high school trouble maker. Still on the making~ 7 Jobs in 7 Seven days. Also on the Stage production at T.Schreiber~ Picasso at the Lapin. While taking classes at Juilliard, she met many great teachers and artists who have inspired and energized her pursuits of the arts. Two time winner of the New York Music Festival for best vocalist; Ivette completed Intimate Sacrifice in 2007 and is currently working on a new music project - original works in collaboration with Ted Nash ( Frank Kimbrough on Piano, Paul Sikievie on Bass and Brian Carter on drums and Ted Nash on soprano and flute).  It is a departure from her last album and we are sure you would love. She has cited influences as Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Fiona Apple and Sting with emphasis on percussion and sultry, soulful lyrics.

Ivette Dumeng has appeared in various TV commercials such as McDonalds, Verizon, KFC to name a few (conflict of interest) and various magazines.

Always experimenting and learning from poets of the past, Ivette will be publishing a collection of poetry, titled "Heart Drops." The collection is influenced by the works of Leroi Jones, an African American poet, and Irish writer James Joyce.
